I just installed Linux Mint 17 Mate, based upon Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Seems like a pretty decent distro, but it was missing quite a few things that I was used to. Among those things that it was missing was a Bluetooth device manager.
Per their recommendations, I downloaded "Blueman" (Graphical Bluetooth Manager) using Synaptic. It allowed me to connect my Bluetooth headphones, but I could not connect the A2DP service (that's the service that provides high fidelity audio streaming from the computer to the device).
Without going through the various dead ends, (Duck Duck Go is usually my friend, but not in this case) I found the bug report on Github. The developers have updated the code for "Blueman" and are in the process of testing it before releasing it for distribution. Their bug fix appears to have worked, at least for me.
You can download the appropriate deb package from here and install it using GDebi.

Okay, I think the installation onto the USB worked this time.
It did work but an installation window popped up, in Chinese and I tried clicking different language options and nothing seemed to work. Somehow it got to Polish or something before I was to X it out.
Actually it seemed like it was going to install so I unplugged the computer. The language option and stuff right at the outside was hard to use.
