Children of same-sex parents have above average health and well-being, research by the University of Melbourne shows.
The research was based on data from the Australian Study of Child Health in Same-Sex Families, which involved input from 315 same-sex parents and a total of 500 children. Of these participating families, 80 percent had female parents while 18 percent had male partners.
"It appears that same-sex parent families get along well and this has a positive impact on health," said Dr Simon Crouch from the Jack Brockhoff Child Health and Wellbeing Program, Centre for Health Equity at the University of Melbourne.
"We know that same-sex attracted parents are more likely to share child care and work responsibilities more equitably than heterosexual parent families, based more on skills rather than gender roles. This appears to be contributing to a more harmonious household and having a positive impact on child health," he said.

“Same sex parents” is a misnomer, as basic biology says there can be no such thing.
What a joke
I’d say this study is premature.
There’s also the likelihood of self-fufilling data selection and poor controls in this study. Many politically touchy studies have the goals they wish to prove in mind before they do the social “science” research.
Well, there’s no such thing. So....I would expect them to be as healthy as your average unicorn.
How old are these kids? Wait until they’re old enough to realize what they’ve been raised in, and how it’s really supposed to be.
I’m calling BS.
Was this study done at the Stonewall Festival, in Savannah, Key West or at the Green Iguana?
They immediately discredit their “study” by launching into propaganda about the roles of normal couples being less harmonious. This was a study of kids’ health?
This study has already been torn apart here. Poor science with poor statistics.

Every time I see an article like this, the first thought that comes to my mind is, Just Say NO To Drugs.
There might be a smidgen of truth to that if the mother is a women’s libber.
So, if same sex parents make healthier kids, shouldn’t evolution have selected for same sex parenting? Or did this revelation just occur in 2014?
