After growing increasingly frustrated with the government’s lack of action on the border, the Minuteman Project was formed in 2004 in an effort to stem the flow of illegal immigrants coming in from Mexico. According to reports, they’re about to revamp their efforts and are now seeking thousands of volunteers to assist in doing what the Obama administration can’t seem to get done.
According to the group’s founder and current president, Jim Gilchrest, they’re seeking an additional 3,500 volunteers over the course of the next ten months to prepare for what they’re calling “Operation Normandy.”
Gilchrest believes that “our federal government has failed us,” so he’s enlisting the help of patriotic Americans to take on a monumental task.
“This problem is not going away and if the government cannot take care of it and protect us, then clearly it’s our duty and obligation to do it for them,” he explained.
