Sorry, but the vet should encourage USA flag displayed upside-down. It is an international signal of distress; in this case a nation; a nation turned upside-down.

He shouldn’t be pissed about them flying it upside down, but about them using a distress-signal when there is no distress.

The issue should not be that it was upside down but that it was on the ground and although the old guy kept saying it was not a real flag, they would not have been using it unless they thought it represented America.

I had my flag upside down (army-66-68) draftee :( on a 30 foot pole. Two neighbors my age said it was disrectable . My reply was it was sign of distress, any military person would know that! Neither of the assholes served... My age.......
I took it down but have not spoken to either since then.
2) the guy in orange, who claimed to be a veteran, and was wearing a SeAL cap (Stolen Valor, anyone?) kept saying the flag wasn't a real symbol, or other such trash.
Therefore, the Obammunists had no respect for Old Glory..they were using it to incite outrage, and I don't blame the young veteran for fighting back. I admire him, in fact. Had I been there, my inclination would've been to join him in wrestling the flag away from the scumbags.
