This is the unfortunate result of defining oneself by their sexual behavior above all else, as evidence by “gay pride” parades and festivals; “gay activism” that demands the 96.5 percent of the U.S. population who are not homosexual (according to the 2012 Gallup survey) not just tolerate, not just accept, but must celebrate the “gay lifestyle” (i.e., homosexual behavior) or face the wrath of the “activists” (a.k.a., homosexual bullies); and other such behaviors.
It’s more than just tolerating and celebrating the lifestyle; from a public health standpoint, we’re subsidizing it. According to the CDC, gay men account for just under 80% of the new HIV infections each year. And thanks to billions of dollars in government-sponsored research, drugs have been developed that allow those afflicted to live for years after they contract the disease. Better yet, many of the drugs are covered by Medicaid and the Obamacare, so the burden is passed on to the taxpayers yet again.
Here’s a question I’d like to pose to the gay lobby: how far along would we be towards a cure for ALS, Alzheimers, and the most deadly forms of cancer if hundreds of billions of dollars in research money and medical care had not been diverted to the “AIDS crisis.” We’ve known from Day One that HIV is almost entirely preventable (for most with the disease), simply by changing one’s behavior; you can’t save someone from the ravages of ALS, pancreatic cancer or other devastating diseases by refraining from anal sex with a large number of partners.
