ALL STAR BASEBALL AND EAST COAST SNOBBERY; WHERE'S VIN SCULLY? [Vanity]

All right, where's Vin Scully? He's the most iconic baseball announcer in the game's history, but has obviously been snubbed by the East coast liberal establishment.

Where did Scully's career begin? With the Brooklyn Dodgers, but that STILL doesn't buy him a seat with the terrible announcers from back East at THIS All Star game.

This is an outrage!

I quit watching - have they followed Jeter to the can to watch him taking a leak yet? You’d think he was president or something.

I guess they'll bury him between Gehrig and Ruth.

Trammel is a beloved former player in Detroit but not so beloved as a former manager. I believe he used to get tossed more than any other managers.

Brad Ausmus is very calm as a manager and I don’t think he’s been thrown out yet. He’s doing a good job for a young guy.

I began to listen to Vin Scully broadcast Dodger baseball games in 1960, when KFI carried the games.

Agreed. It’s disgusting. I’m suprised they don’t have a ‘jock strap cam’ on him during the game.

Well, I’m sure hoping that they don’t take this season out on Gibson and Trammel. The MLB sent the Dbacks to play their first two games against the Dodgers in Australia and the Dbacks have been “down under” ever since. I hope next year that they send somebody else.

58 for me, the 1st year the Dodgers were in LA. Vin Scully/Jerry Doggett.

I used to like Scully when he did NFL games. I couldn’t stand Curt Gowdy.

Vin does home games and away games in Az, SF and San Diego.

He doesn’t travel much.

But if I recall correctly, he did make an exception for when the Dodgers went to NY to play the Yanks.

He might have gone if they’d invited him.

Nice to see Mike Trout win MVP and a new vehicle. God knows he couldn't afford one otherwise. /SARCASM

Vin Scully does not do Fox (National) games. He just does Dodgers games and only really home games and away games in the NL West. (Although he has done Yankee games in New York).

He’s a national treasure and the only solo booth TV guy left, but he wouldn’t have called this game on TV if it were at Dodgers Stadium. The Buck/Verducci/Reynolds team is the No. 1 broadcast team for Fox (National) games.

These are the network guys who do pretty much every network game. MLB Network picks up Scully’s broadcasts from time to time, but Fox uses its own guys.

Joe Buck, a product of nepotism if there ever was one, is a Midwestern guy (St. Louis).

Charlie Slowes, who does Nationals games on 1500 AM, is one of the best around. In the Barber-Lindsey Nelson mode.

Derek Jeter is one of the classiest guys in baseball. Did you see how his fellow players treated him when he came out of the game?

They could have brought in scully for three innings. No class
