SUMTER, SC A 20-year-old waitress is charged with murder after admitting she stabbed her live-in boyfriend in Sumter.
Deputies responded Saturday to Lot 3, 1920 Peach Orchard Road after a call and found 21-year-old Mallory Jerell Richardson stabbed to death on the mobile homes living room floor.
Helen Louise Wells admitted to officers that she stabbed her live-in boyfriend with a knife after an argument, according to Lt. Robert B. Burnish of the Sumter County Sheriffs Office.
Wells, who works as a waitress at the Huddle House restaurant near Shaw Air Force Base, threw up as deputies examined the body, screamed, then confessed, according to an incident report.
Wells told deputies that she and Richardson had been arguing about a female friend of hers. She said they had been in physical fights before and that she was afraid.
Deputies retrieved a knife allegedly used to stab Richardson from the homes front yard after Wells told them where she threw it, the report said.
Richardsons body was blocking the door when deputies arrived and had a deep puncture wound to the upper chest, near his heart, the report said. Wells met deputies in the front yard.
EMS workers were unable to revive him.
Peach Orchard Road is S.C. 441, which runs along the west side of Shaw Air Force Base.
Wells was arrested, charged with murder and taken to the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. No bond has not been set.

“Wells, who works as a waitress at the Huddle House restaurant near Shaw Air Force Base”
The writer must not like the Huddle House. Can someone tell me what he being a waitress has to do with this story?
Oh I dunnoo.....I like those pretty blue peepers.
But that tat on her neck — not so much.
By the way — it’s a cinch he was washing dishes at the time.
Wouldn’t it be a kick if one of her tattoos was her boyfriend’s name?
if there is a tatoo on her neck, she might be cray cray
Aren’t people like this just gems?
Strange name for a restaurant.
The police in Sumter SC can now close their file on Mallory Jerell Richardson. RIP
She has her name tattooed on her neck! What’s the purpose? “I’m sick and tired of people asking me my name”!!
She wanted to make sure he was dead before calling the authorities. ........................................ I guess who ever answered the 911 call asked if they needed an ambulance. Before they send one, they asked her to make sure he’s was dead first. She went back stabbed him again, and answered, yup he is. ?????
MENSA is saddened by the loss of this candidate.
Or, he was forcing his way in after a argument which continued and she defended herself, but I don't pretend to be a detective, good or bad.
If there is white on 3 sides of the pupils it typically looks like the person has "crazy eyes". There is a photo of Manson that is a good example of it.
Look like sad eyes to me.
Looking for references on Google to Mr. Richardson brought only one responsive link other than stories about his demise. Most stories were about girls named Malory who excelled in academics or sports.
Never heard of Malory as a boys name. Also Malory was 21 on August 9, 2013 and July 26, 2014. Bday must be somewhere inbetween.

Jerell Mallory Richardson, 21, of 2725 Gallishaw Road in Dalzell, pleaded guilty to criminal domestic violence, first offense, on Monday after being charged in February with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. His victim, who lives at an apartment complex on Miller Road, told police that the two had lived together for five months and that Richardson kept her as a prisoner in the apartment, according to 3rd Circuit Assistant Solicitor Bronwyn K. McElveen. Richardson also had a video camera in the apartment to record the womans movements in and out of the home. Brown gave him 30 days in jail or a $200 fine, giving him 30 days to pay.
It appears Helen Louise Wells decided to take matters into her own hands.
I did find some references to a Jerell Richards who lives in the area, but I think he is two years younger. He was involved in a drug dealer robbery that went bad. One of his fellow perps was killed. His mother then said prosecutor all wrong in describing her boys as bad boys and they couldnt possibly have done this. Notwithstanding the fact that the dead 14 year old had a riffle and the other two had hand guns. Yet they were taken out by a single victim with a handgun.
It’s a chain restaurant in the Carolinas (and perhaps elsewhere).
The way her eyebrows are plucked is the latest style.
They're nothin' to write home about....
The headline gives the impression that she threw up at the restaurant.
The fact is what she does for a living and where she works has ZERO to do with the fact she killed her boyfriend....
Guess they couldn’t help themselves injecting the white trashy element into the story...
The graveyard shift at Huddle House.
And 14 tattoos.
NOTE: Buy pool full of piranha and a very large Cuisinart blender
I envision two large hands on either side and renaming it “Huggy House”
I didn’t mention the eyebrows I don’t think. Probably would gag a little if I did.
WTF is going on and has been going on out there to raise these generations of lost souls? Our society is a frikking mess. It’s bad, really, really bad and very pervasive. This isn’t limited to a small minority of people. It’s becoming the vast majority.
IIRC, the owner named it that because something about people huddling up for great food and company after football games.
I’ve never eaten there, but they’re almost everywhere down here in GA
It is actually a GA chain. Started in Decatur, GA. :)
Thanks! I know I’ve seen them around here, and from the article, I knew they’re also in South Carolina.
Anyway, I agree with another poster about the relevance of Huddle House to this story. The headline makes it seem like she committed this murder while on the job as a waitress. That's just odd.
I guess it’s a southern thang!
I’ve never been to one, nor to a Waffle House.
Oh I enjoy Waffle House. Once in a while, I go in and enjoy a breakfast. I’m willing to eat their grits, the only place I will eat grits away from home. They’re not perfect, but they will do. Ha!!
I love breakfast foods. I could eat way too much!
