A miniseries has more than 2 and usually 13 or fewer espisodes, plus it has a predetermined ending. So a lot of the current cable series being mentioned are not miniseries.

Same observation I’ve had in reading the postings. Seems most posters don’t know the difference between a regular TV series and a mini-series of only a few episodes that usually deals with historical subject matter.
I say again, that “America”, narrated by Alstaire Cook was a great mini-series that covered the history of this country up to that point in the 1970s in a thorough way.
James Burke’s “Connections”
