SWAT Sniper Paid The Price For Fantasizing About Killing Bundy Ranch Protesters
Western Journalism ^ | Jul 28, 2014 | B. Christopher Agee

Following April’s standoff between federal agents and civilian protesters at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada, tensions on both sides of the issue remained high. What one law enforcement professional posted on social media regarding the incident, however, went far beyond the bounds of policy disagreement.

After publicly fantasizing about blowing a protester’s head off with his sniper rifle, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that [Officer Laws] was soon called out by fellow Facebook user J.L. Bourne.

According to sources within the department, he was transferred out of the SWAT team and placed on patrol duty.

Except for the obvious fact that instructing all LEOs that every man, woman and child, in any situation is a liar and an imminent threat to them and should be look upon as the enemy .

And shooting people or dogs is fine, the department and politicians will smooth it over, no problem.

He should have been fired and disgraced for his anti-Taxpayer attitude. What a goon.

All swat teams should be disbanded. That or just declare war on all US citizens.

Swat teams do serve a purpose...

There are incidents that require their skill sets and training...

They just need to be used rarely and only when all other scenarios cannot work...

Probably about 5 % of current usage...

I’m not anti-cop. I’m anti bad/dirty cop.

Serious question: Do you see cops routinely turning in dirty/bad cops? or do they instead tend to band together?
By refusing to cleanse the evil in their midst they allow evil therein to prosper.

But then, they occupy a higher tier in the American Caste System than you do, so they don't care so long as you respect their authority.

5% of 50,000 is 2500.

Do you really think there were 2500 incidents in the US this last year justifying SWAT?
If there were, wouldn't you think the powers-that-be would tout them as the system worked in the War on Terror.

My 5 % number was a WAG..

I had no idea there were 50,000 SWAT raids in the USA last year...

I hereby make my WAG 1 % <

Some of these LE types that are arrogant are also ignorant. Many protesters are trained just as they are and some even armed as well as the SWAT members are. I think a few LE don't realize that fact.

“I’m anti bad/dirty cop.”

I think that’s pretty much inclusive.

With that small amount of usage, many departments could not afford or justify having a team. So, yes, most should be disbanded.

The Vegas police swat team was nowhere near the stand-off scene between the uniformed Vegas police and the militia.

In reality it was the uniformed police who were under threat, fearing for their lives. And when Cliven Bundy gave the order to advance on the corral where the BLM officers were located, the Vegas police got out of their way.

After the incident played out, all of the Vegas police co-operated with federal authorities trying to identify which militia members needed to be prosecuted. No doubt they resented these events and no doubt the swat officer also resented it.

Here's a video of the confrontation between police and militia.

... which side will the National Guard, Police, and military be on?

If you need to raise the question the answer is obvious.

“After the incident played out, all of the Vegas police co-operated with federal authorities trying to identify which militia members needed to be prosecuted. “

Which means next time both sides will be wearing full face masks, not just SWAT

"Which means next time"

Correct. They show up trying to keep the peace, doing everything they can to prevent escalation and the militia attacks.

That can happen only once or twice. Its not much different from what is happening in Palestine.

Facebook user J.L. Bourne.

J. Bourne??

Jason Bourne???

Sounds like Officer Laws isn't the only one indulging in a bit of fantasy.
