We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say hi! Feel free to join us!
Posting early today. Couldn’t sleep!
>>A few Pittsburgh radio rumors for you: 104.7 switches to country format. 970 takes the syndicated shows from 104.7. A new signal is moved in to move the ESPN Radio stuff to. Also, Frank Iorio's WJAS (just sold to him by Renda)is going talk with Quinn and Rose
WJAS signal by day, though this could be very optimistic
Good morning!
Yup that coverage map is wildly optimistic, LOL! We often can’t get the signal in the building where the programming originates.
Oh if we could just go back to the days when transmitter remote controls were in the studio and readings were taken several times a shift. That way you knew if you were on the air and someitmes you could...boost the signal, hehehe. Illegal though.
Mornin’ everybuddy!
Good morning n’@!
I couldn’t sleep either :-/
Have any of yinz read about the African Nations Summit, to be held in DC (I think starting next week ) and 500+ delegates (FROM the African continent—you know, the place w/the out of control ebola) ARE ALREADY HERE, and that Barry will be out on the Vineyard and Congress will be on vacay, and that due to heavy “traffic” concerns Federal govt workers MAY be told to work from home. But those are ALL COINKY dinks, and just go about your business...and
Didn’t Quinn say a million times “PC will get us killed?” I believe NOW more than ever he is right. The DC scenario, with the epidemic in West Africa, plus a wide open Southern US borders makes for every horror movie made to seem lame. When Ebola went wild WEEKS ago, why was this summit not canceled? PC trumping science or something WAAAY more nefarious?
No wonder we can’t sleep.
Morning! I am in the purple circle...and 50,000 watt KDKA can be a staticky mess.
Sigh.
Quinn and Rose hopefully will do podcasts as well.
Morning! I’m in Indiana - just next to the purple circle. I hope they stream their show!
Hot rumor is internet broadcasting will be a part of the new WJAS.
Morning PaMom! Just woke up (again) and really really groggy. Got bread started in the bread machine at 3:00 am. Isn’t that what everybody does in the middle of the night when they can’t sleep.
Re: the African summit. Coinky-dink indeed! I hope to get more supplies stashed in the pantry. The less we go out the better, I’m thinking. I’ve been reading all of the threads about Ebola. Truly a frightening thing. Thank goodness our borders are secure!/sarc
Hot rumor is internet broadcasting will be a part of the new WJAS.
Maybe not at the start though.
I’m in Mt. Washington - just will be glad to have Q & R back in the morning.
Build my hopes...then...crush them. Any rumors on the time of day their show will be? Quinn seems to be sleeping in as of late (from timeliness of his tweets) maybe his internal clock has “changed?” :-/
Rose doing commercials (like for the Franklin Graham upcoming event in the Burgh) but other than that, she seems to have disappeared (no tweets or emails).
I think one of them Siberian type sinkholes will open up out here in Westmoreland County...our am radio signal coverage is awful. When I’ve listened to KDKA (and I do like Larry Richert...the show is cutesy/shallow apolitical) in the car, the signal is scratchy sounding and that’s when I’m driving to work (towards Allegheny County line). I don’t understand that at all :-/
Amen on building up the pantry supplies! And I’m still going to get a bread machine (once I get past sons wedding in November). Bet your house smells heavenly :)
I went back to bed after starting the bread, getting the thread posted and letting the dog out. Got up to the smell of baked bread just about ready to come out of the ‘oven’! I bought Wonder Bread last week for mountain pies. First loaf of store bought bread I’ve bought in a long time. Tasted fine for the mountain pies but for toast - yuck!!!!
Yes, isn’t it convenient that Barry will be on vacation during the summit—ordinarily you would think he want to show his face at such a gathering.
Our dear leaders and bureaucrats are worried about themselves, but no so concerned about the general population.
Here’s another crushing thought. Isn’t Daschle’s son still head of the FCC? If he’s bent on ending conservative talk radio maybe he could nix the WJAS sale. Then we’d be back at square one.
AFAIK the sale is still in the filing stage. Nothing has been approved.
Meanwhile we’ve been watvhing QVC Christmas in July all month. No money to buy anything but it’s been nice. This morning they had Jim Shore Collectables and one of his items was Ilsa and Anna and whatever the snowman from Frozen was.
Mrs p6 was getting ready for work and saw them. She thought it would be nice to have them here when the grand daughters visit. Really she just wanted them for herself...lol! They aren’t toys! Two payments of 33 for the set.
How could I say no???? Delivery is first week of December.
I thought I just heard that "Peace Corps" was pulling out its 640 volunteers out of Africa since two volunteers were showing early symptoms of Ebola.
Home Storage is a good thing for natural emergncies and pandemics.
Ah ,..Fresh Bread !! The aroma brings back memories of family traditions, and family get-togethers.
Only problem is that no matter how hard I scratch the screen, and sniff, no aroma here !
Please make a second batch , and I will play "scratch and sniff" a little bit later .. !!
Quinn and Rose are like Cinnamon raison toast.. - there is never enough !!
