The Arlington Heights Police Chief is anti-gun except unless the guns are in the hands of the dog killers.
Suburban reaction seems mixed to a proposal by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle to fine people who don’t report in a timely manner that their firearms are missing or stolen.
“Arlington Heights Police Chief Gerald Mourning said he supports the proposal and stricter gun laws nationwide.”

An Arlington Heights man is suing his local police department after officers came to his home and confiscated his antique firearms and his valid Illinois firearms ID card (FOID card) without a warrant following a session the man had with a therapist.
When I was a kid growing up in Arlington Heights
in the fifties, it was a great little town. Kids could go anywhere, and did. The Western Automotive stores sold
rolling block rifles by the barrel at 5 bucks apiece.
The VFW had a big rack out front for hunters to hang
their deer on during deer season and you would see plaid
nation congregating out front telling their tales and
having a snort.
We moved away in the early 60s and I’m glad I don’t live
there now, thank god for states like Georgia where PC
dictatorship hasn’t quite taken over yet.
