BTW ms. marmalade, there were clearly other ways this could have been handled. There was no need to attack this guy they way it occurred. There was no hurry to make an arrest.
The worse this guy was doing was what? Selling cigs or whatever he was standing there doing? What did this guy do? He tried to plead and reason with them, and they resorted to what ya see on the video. That just wasn’t needed.
No, he was not some educated wall street suit, so ya deal with what ya have. Ya don’t treat them like some foreign enemy or treat them like some violent moron who just robbed the local liquor store at gun point.
There are ways to deal with people Missy. If ya spend enough time on the streets, most eventually figure that out. Otherwise you gunna get entire cities pissed off.
Stop calling me “missy,” if you want a decent answer. I probably am 20 years older than you.
Some of us - who have gone through NYC in the 60s, 70s and 80s and early 90s are concerned about our neighborhoods turning back into hellholes with wolf packs raping up the Upper East Side. We know that people who have priors are capable of escalating crimes into rape, murder and mayhem. That’s what the whole theory of “broken windows” is about.
The judicial system will decide whether these cops were guilty of murder so I, personally, don’t worry about it.
But I’m glad all of you freepers out there in rural and suburban land are so supportive of our left-wing mayor who is so upset about this tragedy that he brought in your beloved Al Sharpton to sit on a panel and pontificate about it. He’ll probably testify at the cops’ trial! I can’t wait, he’s such a mensch.
