Hats off to all our warriors whatever branch. Past, present and future. Despite the lyin' kings efforts to reduce the military to a parade size force.

I remember the first time I was addressed as “Marine.” My head swelled ten time sits normal size and I felt like I could walk on air.

SEMPER FIDELIS!!!!

I liked the videos. Some of the narrative verged on making the Marines sound like social workers instead of warriors. That’s no knock on the Marines. As an Army vet they sure have my respect.

I know what you mean. Some of the current USN ads are good like the one with the aircraft carrier cruising by and in the wake is shown “100% on watch!” Then in another one the voice over says “A global force for good”. How about “A global force to kick your butt if you mess with us.”?

I couldn’t have been a Navy Chief...I would have wanted to be a Marine.

The Marines always had the best recruiting commercials for as long as I can remember. The 80s Army ones were really good too.

LOL! Yeah, some of the Navy ones showing us chipping paint didn’t really entice folks to join.

Me, 30APR82, parade deck MCRD San Diego, thinking, "Holy ****! I have a title".

10 year Marine veteran, here. The thing I used to love about Marine promotional material was that they were always about honor, courage, killing people and breaking their stuff. The other branches spoke more towards career training, education opportunities and the likes. I think the subject matter spoke to the differences in warrior ethos, at the service level, between the branches.

Not knocking the lesser services with that statement :-P

I recall a night somewhere south of Danang where our Army armored platoon, for which I was medic, was called in to support Marines on a small firebase.

To hear these guys talk they all hated the war and the “Crotch”. One black guy’s answer to a question of mine though was very telling.

“But none of that matters,” he said, “cuz’ dig it Doc, you’re a Marine, and that’s all that matters.”

It has stuck with me to this day.

“A global force for good”. How about “A global force to kick your butt if you mess with us.”?

That's definitely what I had in mind.

Some have humor too. I like the one where the Army drill sgt barks in a loud command voice into the face of a recruit: "You joined the world's greatest army to learn to be a graphic designer?"... Outstanding!

When our soldiers and marines can’t pray to God on the base, in the mess hall or their barracks then this vet refuses to support them. The senior staff in the Pentagon isa bunch of wimps and their CiC is batshit crazy.
