Yes, this was the important missing piece of the puzzle. College bound Michael Brown, budding forensic science investigator, had gotten wind of the nefarious Wilson credit card thief ring. Michael only had time to gather up one member of his Scooby-Doo gang, and after making a quick stop at the local Quicky Mart, looking for clues, he was able to track down Officer Wilson, while walking down the middle of the road. Realizing that his family crime ring had been uncovered by the precocious Gentle Giant, Wilson, playing the part of Professor Moriarty, took out the erstwhile Sherlock Holmes.
It is all clear now.
