What Part of the Constitution Do Liberals Still Support?

With every passing day, President Obama uses his pen and his phone to expand his power and unilaterally change immigration, health care, energy, and tax laws. These actions have met with the approval of liberals everywhere. This is not a new attitude. Liberals have always been in favor of the “imperial presidency” from Roosevelt to Johnson to Obama, conveniently skipping Richard Nixon, of course. Liberal scholars have long championed the need of chief executives to meet modern exigencies as defined by liberal priorities—so long as a Democrat was in the White House.

Curiously, while liberals believe the chief executive can unilaterally modify laws passed by Congress, they do not accept many constitutional limits on Congress’ legislative jurisdiction. The Constitution specifically delegates certain enumerated powers to the legislative branch, yet the last Congress run by Democrats governed as if it had plenary powers to legislate on any topic. Who can forget the bemused look of then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi when she was asked to state the specific congressional power that authorized Obamacare? So while Congress can legislate on any topic, their actions are subject to unilateral revision by the chief executive.

They support the abortion amendment, the homosexual marriage amendment and the amendment that outlaws Christianity.

Right, the Left openly disdains the Constitution.

They claim it is illegitimate, written by old, white, fat guys who owned slaves (and probably passed gas).

Obama supposedly taught Con Law at U Chicago and probably taught the same tripe, that the Bill of Rights was incomplete as it only told the government what it could NOT do (cannot infringe on unalienable rights) but did not set forth all that the government COULD do.

His Exec Orders fill the void.

But the 10th Amendment covers that. It says:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Answer: The part that lets women vote.

Dear old mom is the first to say that the nation began its rapid spiral downward starting with the Suffragettes.

Yeah, but they can’t read. Public schools focus on Womyn’s studies and condom application—not anything useful.

Thank you for referencing that article Kid Shelleen. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

I don't know of any reason why liberals would have been taught about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers since most people don't seem to understand why the Founding States made the federal Constitution - to limit (cripple) the fed's powers.

And I suspect that at least a minority of liberals would rather see the federal government's powers properly expanded within the framework of the Constitution if they were brought up to speed on the fed's constitutionally limited powers.

Isn’t amnesty in the Supreme Court’s purview? They should be preparing to have an emergency meeting in parallel with Barry’s announcement of amnesty, so that they can rule it unconstitutional within seconds. All justices should be on call so they can teleconference in an instant.

In my dreams.

The living constitution is anarchy. If law doesn’t mean the same thing from one generation to another then it’s not law. The law means what it says. It is unambiguous and not up to interpretation. Law in it’s absolute certainty is a comfort. Without law we have no civilized society.

Obama’s and Pelosi’s law which they passed to find out what’s in it doesn’t mean the same thing from one day to the next. It’s an experiment to test American’s limits for an unreasonable and overreaching authority; kind of like how a woman will test her man’s limits only to find he’s a lazy weakling who will not stand up to her then she has no choice but to become increasingly demanding.
