Not much of a fair study if you ask me.
Perhaps a butthurt clinic...
Reading Job and do know that it rains on the just and the unjust. Depends on how you feel about the rain. Store it, set your potted plants out in it, glad it curls your hair, know when it’s coming from the joint aches so get the umbrella, glad to put away the sunglasses, take pictures of rainbows.
I am 100% convinced that your fortunes are tied to your attitude. People who mope around feeling sorry for themselves tend to have a dark cloud over them.
Not to mention that self-pity makes for poor box office. Instead of feeling sorry for these people, I try to get as far away from them as I can.
Self-pity (along with envy and jealousy) are self-destructive emotions. It ages you faster, makes you miserable to be around and thus causes more health problems. That's why these people really do seem to have more bad things happen to them then others. If you have a "woe is me" attitude about life, it will become a self-fulling prophecy.
Having a positive attitude definitely helps you get through the rough patches that everybody has in life and in my opinion, being happy and positive keeps you healthier and other successful people will want to be around you.
Surround yourself with winners and distance yourself from losers.
Amen to that.
He WAS a bit "New Agey"...however, he would say it while we were beating our faces out of the front-leaning-rest position.
I’m 6 weeks, post-op, on a left knee replacement. It is only slightly more painful than the right knee replacement I had last December.
Attitude surely does affect pain levels and healing, I think. I’m glad mine is over. I am walking 4 blocks a day now. Will soon be up to half a mile......maybe a mile, I don’t know. I’m almost 72 and don’t know how far I should walk. I’ll ask my doctor when I go back in October.
Go get 'em.
Attitude is reality!
