Our grand-kids were watching a 20 year old episode of 'Full House' this morning. Since I think of that show as a family values show, I was paying little attention. I looked at the TV in time to see an effeminate 7 year old boy playing goalie in a soccer game. Oddly (to me) he was wearing a rainbow flag shirt. Was Hollywood propagandizing us with the rainbow flag in family values TV 20+ years ago, and I just didn't remember it? Looking up the episode and actor (Wrong Way Tanner 09/28/93, Blake McIver Ewing) I found he is now a go-go dancer and an admitted homosexual. So now I am really curious. Was that little boy 'turned out' by one of the numerous pedophiles working in TV? Or did the homosexuals working on the show just recognize a kid with the ear-markings of a future homosexual? In an article he reported that he went to a Christian high school and was suicidal around 14 because he realized he was homosexual.
The rainbow flag was “hip” in the 70’s. Only later did the homos appropriate it for themselves (much like white racists appropriated the Confederate Naval Jack).
yeah it`s on the price is right as a vertical banner and a chevron- also on BigBang program tshirts
Rainbows belong to God, not queers.
Sheldon's T-Shirt has the image of a video test pattern called Color Bars. It's not a 'rainbow.' If you've ever worked in or around television, you've seen Color Bars and the accompanying 1 KHz tone many times at the front of videotapes.
Sometimes a co-incidence is just that.
It does make it hard to see the patterns working under the surface.
A symbol of a promise by The Almighty to mankind has been twisted by the homolobby to represent something The Almighty finds to be an abomination.
How well do they think that will work out?
I knew a Methodist pastor back in the 80s that had a rainbow flag bumper sticker, so yeah, it has been around that long.
In the mid-80s, I recall starting to see those rainbow stickers around, usually accompanied with stickers of unicorns and stars, and most often on the back windshields of old VW beetles, driven by flakey girls.
Didn’t really come to associate it with homos until the 1990s. Seeing as this tv episode is from 1992-93 era, it might have caused me to raise my eyebrows a bit. But probably not most people. Most average adults back then, even as recently as 20 years ago, just weren’t so cognizant of these little subculture cues as they are now.
Prior to that it was the pink triangle, but they stopped using that when Jewish scholars began to debunk their claims of Holocaust genocide.
Obama always gets rainbow snow cones and eats like this.
A couple of years ago I went to a bank in San Francisco to cash a check and presented my Hawaii driver license, which features a large rainbow. The cashier said to me: "Oh Cool! Where did you get the Gay ID?"
My new DL features a picture of Mount McKinley with the big dipper and north star superimposed so I probably won't get that question again.
Considering that Mork & Mindy started syndication in 1978 (the same year the Sodomite flag was designed by Gilbert Baker), and considering that Williams has always been a degenerate liberal, that’s certainly the correct conclusion.
All I know is that the son on “Who’s The Boss” was sure to grow up to be a flamer, and I was right.
Oh, please. I saw rainbow flags and stickers long before 1978.
Call them queers then point out that stupid chant. Shuts the fags down real fast.
They tried to get the pink panther.
Rainbows or rainbow colors were also popular with hippies and Grateful Dead fans of the era.
The BigBang guy is a homo.
He’s still a proud fruit.
Well, duh. The rainbow flag was used long before the Sodomites appropriated it, but the media forced the connection in ‘78. It’s not unreasonable to think that Williams was showing solidarity with them.
