Joan Rivers is in critical condition after she stopped breathing during a medical procedure on Thursday, police sources tell The Post.
The E! Fashion critic, 81, was a patient at Yorkville Endoscopy on East 93rd street near Third Avenue in New York City, police sources told The Post.
After she stopped breathing, a 911 call was placed at around 9:40 a.m.
TMZ reports the caller said, “We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest.”
She was reportedly rushed to Mount Sinai hospital.

Strange in that she would not have had an anesthesiologist on the case; they should have been able to handle it themselves. The fact that a health facility had to call 911 is a very bad sign.

Why do you think she didn’t have an anesthesiologist? I’ve had procedures done at clinics and there was an anesthesiologist there.

My guess is they may have had a nurse CRNA administering propofol.I just had an upper endoscopy done a week ago, and that is exactly what they had - no anesthesiologist, nurse CRNA there instead. However the facility was a medical tower attached to a small hospital, so conceivably help would have been close at hand.
Well I’m adding endoscope to colonoscopy as no goes.
Years ago my brother was at his cardiologist's office and something went haywire....they actually called 911 and had him bambulanced across the street to the hospital.
Joan Rivers is very Pro Israel and had come out recently in full support of Israel. I have not agreed with her politics in the past but I pray that she survives..she had some kind of vocal cord surgery done..anytime you go under something can happen

Stopping breathing during an endoscopy sounds like negligence to me, or WORSE.. That’ll teach her to ever call Michelle ‘transgender’ ever again.
She is also friends with Nancy Reagan, FWIW. I hope she is going to be OK.
