We’ve been ready here in Florida for the last twenty years. It doesn’t have to be a 9-11-style terrorist attack. It might be that Great Big Hurricane that will happen sooner or later, and that we all anticipate. And by the way: if the terrorists hit us with an EMP burst (electromagnetic pulse caused by a high-atmosphere nuclear explosion) then all the gas in your car would be worthless anyway. The EMP would destroy all of the car’s electrical components, just like it would shut down all the electricity in your house. Permanently.
Same here on the Texas Gulf Coast. I have closets full of stored food that we rotate on a regular basis, water bobs and blue barrels for water, cash hidden in case we need it and a whole house backup gas geneator, radios, batteries and cell phones stored in broken microwave oven in case of an emp.
