Not for a while. That was the only reason I sometimes went there, and their stores' selections of those items have dwindled dramatically (along with electronic hobbyists). There is little reason for RS now.

Another American icon gone, followed soon by Sears and KMart.

The one I miss is Heathkit. I spent many a winter hour building electronic stuff from Heathkit back in my teens. It was good quality time with my Dad. This thread brought back some memories and a tear.

The second the salespeople glom me to sell me a new phone, I just say "Where are the drawers. I need the drawers".

You know, where they keep the raw electronic parts and components that they had no idea even existed in their store.

The day they get rid of the drawers is the day I never enter RS again.
