There is all kind of heart break in life, but nothing like the loss of your friend, and protector.

Lost my lab mix 2 months ago the 20th of this month, and this retired Marine ain't ashamed to admit I cried like a kid.

He wasn't just a dog, he was my best pal....

Prayers for you and your family at this difficult time.

Darling thank you!

But people are not reading *down thread* to my feeble attempt to correct my embarrassing mistake. I’ve asked Mssrs. JR to pull the thread.

FReepers are so kind and generous with their thoughts. I hope I am forgiven. My very bad.

See #15 and my apology. Sorry for the big *oopsie*

The wild eyed look is the same for his tennis ball

You're still in the puppy stage! Lucky lucky you!

You know of what I speak.....the rock he swallowed at about 6 mos. and eventually vomited 2 weeks later...and the coffee table he chewed to death.....

....you know of *tennis ball syndrome* too. :D

I pulled a rock out of mouth last night! We live in South Dakota, lots of rocks around here. I can't even think about the stuff she has eaten out of the yard. She has destroyed every toy except her Kongs. She has destroyed tennis balls, soccer balls, Kong ball, several Frisbees. Ate the handle off her Jolly ball. Loves to eat wood. Sigh....

She is very cute, but she has started to talk back when I tell her to sit. Quite the diva.

I have this *theory* about Labs .....over the years, they're about all we have owned. I think males are more independent minded...tending to run away from you, yada...therefore more difficult to train.

I've found females to be more *homebodies* ...less likely to bolt off during early stages of training.

I know there are exceptions to every statement. But both love to chew, and swallow the darnedest things!

My dog loves those bones. She has some border collie in her which might make her crazy. She does not like to take walks. She also does not like when my husband is outside. We have to find him and see what he's doing. I tell her she's a nosy dog. She don't care. :)

Winchester's teeth are worn down from knawing on them. We'll have to get him dental *caps* for his old age.

Thanks for the tip. Since she has stopped chewing as much I quit giving her them. So now knowing this I won’t get her anymore. Elk antlers are supposed to be OK. I am waiting for my order to come.

Looks so sweet, must have a soft mouth for pheasant hunting...looks like my pepper, only she didn't hunt, or play catch with a ball, hated to get her feet wet and couldn't drag her into my daughters pond. Sweet, smart but not your typical lab....If I could, I'd hug your picture..:O)

When trying to get an 80 pound dog in a pond with their brakes on is not easy...couldn't get her past her ankles into the pond, but she would jump onto the paddle boat, it kept her feet dry...duh

Mornin' GG!

Can't relate to a Lab not wet all the time! This character won't stay in the boat....keeps jumping out.

Even when the duck boat is sitting in the yard....he leaps from a stand-still by the transom [4-5'?]....wants to *GO*!!! *Get the hint, dad?*...can't stay in the boat......can't keep out of it.. LOL
