Arrogant scientists probably know less than 1/100th of 1% of all there is to be known......and the very essence of science is that it is almost daily discovering ——— hold on for this ————

IT WAS WRONG!

You’d think this process, after a few thousand years, would produce some humility in scientists..........

But boy - is that rare...........

I think science progresses not from error to truth, but from partial truth to slightly more complete truth. Newton was not “wrong”, merely incomplete.

If someone asked me to “prove” Newtonian mechanics, I would demur that I do not claim that I can prove Newtonian mechanics, but rather I would assert that I find Newtonian mechanics is useful. Indeed, it is generally more useful than almost any competing theory.
