From what I can see TM works for some people. But the TM “church” that was built up around it is goofy and money grubbing like Scientology. Except Scientology is 100x worse and more money hungry than the TM bureaucracy in Fairfield Iowa. The Scientology organization is downright evil and vile. The TM org is not
I hear you get a mantra for $700 these days. In 1973 I got one for $25 which means initiation and so on and a few lectures. I will probably start doing TM again due to seeing how it helped Ray Dalio according to himself

There are two aspects to TM.
1.) The mantra and 2.) how to use it properly. It takes both and the how to use it properly cannot be gotten from a book or the Internet. It takes a trained teacher of TM to guide the new meditator in proper use.
