Incorrect. The KKK formed after NBF had dissolved the society he created. The KKK was comprised of much more bitter and petty men who did not like the blacks sudden rise from slaves to voting citizens. These men became the core of the DemocRat political machine for the next century and a half.
What I said was that the KKK portrayed and believed itself to be defending the south against northern oppression. This is entirely accurate.
I’m not sure where you got your information but the Ku Klux Klan was formed in Pulaski Tennessee in 1866 and, although not a founder, Forrest served as it’s first Grand Wizard starting sometime in 1867 and continuing until 1969 when he resigned and ordered the association dissolved.
