Notice how after the ordeal, the adults form a protective shield around the youngster.

You would too if they had your whole clan caged up in some zoo for humans gawk at and point at you for amusement.

BTW, that video clearly reveals those elephants are way intelligent and yes, compassionate. Like dogs, and crows, etc ...Crows oversee and look out for each other. I know.

In my younger days when I didn’t know zip, I shot one with a pellet gun. They entire pack came back to see what happened, and circle that bird until the sun went down. The also glared right at me.

I never did anything like that ever again, unless I had to eat.

the elephant behavior studies should be shown to those going to parenting classes.

When 60 minutes was mildly interesting it had a program on what happens to young male elephants left to raise themselves. It was chaos and death until the older males were brought back.

And provide you food you do not have to work for, protection from predators/poachers and free veterinarian care that you would never get in the wild.

Nice video...I'm not sure why this is so amazing...

Elephants are pack animals, highly intelligent, family oriented, mourn their dead, can be taught to paint...etc

I went into this fatcorp once, opened a door to a sea of cubicals as big as a 10 acre field...

They had a raised platform right in the middle of them all, like a gun tower, with several people watching over the cubical community...

I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
