In the beginning, this site was red hot because people finally had a chance to voice their knowledge and opinions on real time current events. Now with twitter and facebook, people are just talked out. That is why we spend so much time watching cat videos.
That being said, my favorite time was the Dan Rather memogate where some of our very own Freepers proved his memos to smear Bush where essentially photocopied default setting Microsoft Word documents and obviously fake. Not only was that cool seeing the Freepers pull this together, but it was part of pulling down the walls of the corporate media and overcoming their propaganda.

I remember the Bush election when Rather was announcing for I think it was Gore ( the first election) and the election stats all over the net showed that Bush was way ahead. We put the information together and flooded CBS that election night. He retracted his statement about 1 or two am. We worked hard.
My biggest regret is not going to the Inaugural Ball and other get togethers. I have been here 16 years and have not made one friend.
It's because most of them are from away, isn't it? ;-)
