no way- the race never should have been cancelled- it was a freak accident in which Bianci hydroplaned off the track and hit a crane that was removing another car (Adrian Sutil)...hydroplaning/sliding off the track happens every week but sliding into a crane is a rare event...
we’ve been following the story with multiple links the past two days on the F1 list:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3210585/posts
should also add its a mobile crane that was only in that position to move Sutil’s luck...it was an instance of wrong place/wrong time for Bianchi...
Nasty...
Totally unnecessary shunt. The wet track was like ice. To hell with F1 officials for not stopping the race.
I will be fascinated to hear comments from Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart and others who have pushed for better driver safety.
More drivers were once killed, before the safety efforts.
See two movies:
“Rush” about Niki Lauda, and

“Afternoon of a Champion” about Stewart.

The most by circuit were Indianapolis, which used to be an F1 race.

The race should have been cancelled.
