Hi I just saw a commercial on Foxnews, it was very quick, but featured George Pataki, and said interesting things.

It was very quick.

The commercial is evidently on the website:

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: pataki
I very much liked the commercial.

Do not yet recognize the group.

Does anyone know anything, about this?

I don't, but if Pataki is involved, this might be a site related to his presidential campaign.

I like what he said - very conservative message. I’ll be looking out for this group.

Is Pataki seen as a Middle of the Road type of republican? I know nothing about him, nor have I heard much lately connected with that name.

I see that Pataki is 69 y/o, was Gov. of New York from 1995 to 2006. Impressive record, but, just as with Jeb Bush, Pataki seems to be a figure of the past.

I know next to nothing about Pataki.

However I very much liked this commercial.

Well done. If he’s going to be announcing for the presidency in 2016, he’s certainly starting out right, in my opinion.

What about this guy?

Dennis Michael Lynch invigorates the conservative grassroots

He's been appearing on Fox and claims that he is definitely running. He sounds good -- so far.

Perhaps he should have announced the things that will not impress Conservatives?

A warrior against Global Warming.

In favor of Amnesty and massive legal immigration (with the usual camouflage, of course).

I can't recall his public stance on abortion, but he certainly never did anything policy-wise to slow it down.

He cut taxes, but, as I recall, every one of his budgets was larger than the year before, even though New York state actually lost population while he was there.

He's a center-left northeastern Republican.

A perfect fit with Boehner, McConnell, and Chris Christie.

Oh H$LL NO.

From Wikipedia:

“In 2000, Pataki helped lead the legislature in passing some of the toughest gun control measures in the county”.

Scratch that. No way.

There are many reports of Pataki considering a run 1in 2016, despite his age and being a another northeastern liberal.

just as with Jeb Bush, Pataki seems to be a figure of the past.

They both also make a very good figure of a pest.

Pataki was/is a Milquetoast republican who defeated Mario Cuomo in 1994 for Governor of NY. He ran on the death penalty and 65MPH.

The first was a loser, in as much the courts threw it out first chance they got. And it was not an everyday item that affected the life of everyone on a daily basis.

Mario the Pius, stated flatly “that the speed limit in NY would remain 55 MPH for as long as I am governor”. This was an every day item that make all those downstate liberals decide that they had had enough of Troop T’s (NY State Police that patrol the NY Thruway) boot at their throats on their way to their seasonal homes on Lake George. Those liberals decided they wanted 65MPH more than they wanted Cuomo.

Pataki did lower taxes and a few other things and overall was a decent Governor. Is he presidential material? Probably not IMHO.

I am strongly against Pataki, unless he comes out (vocally and strongly) against any new gun control. In fact, I think we begin rolling it back. Big time.

I challenge Pataki to address this issue.

Publicly. Loudly. And right now.

If Pataki were to do that, I could support him, but otherwise no way.

How about it, Pataki.

If you’re going to run for the presidency, then publicly and strongly state, you are against (any) gun control.

Say it.

Now.

Pataki may very well be more conservative than he was able to annunciate in NY politics, but I have never seen any evidence to that effect.

What you are asking, is not going to come from Pataki. He signed legislation prohibiting 30rnd AR magazines in NY. So he would be a “sensible” gun regulation type. Which to me, and you, is a non-negotiable.

He may run, be may be looking to play “king maker” via money.

As I said, he was a decent governor, operative word being decent, but not great. He held the line against the democRATS, but never pushed back enough against Shelly Silver or Schmuck Schumer.
