I am sad at the direction that Taylor Swift is taking.
I teach guitar, and most of my students are young girls. Taylor Swift’s songs were perfect for teaching guitar! They had structure, nice chord sequences, and the ability to be sung and played solo without backing tracks, karaoke, or beat boxes.

They were also usually about teenage hetero relationships, romance, heartache, and stuff like that. You know...real life.

I guess we can still sing the songs from her first three albums, but kids want to be up-to-date.

She is throwing away a huge constituency, of young listeners, concert-goers, and people who actually bought her SHEET MUSIC!

Also, she is making MY job more difficult! LOL!

I listened to “Fearless” and “Red” about 50-100 times. If I listen to “1989” more than 5 times, I’ll be surprised.

Do all your girls sing those hits about the awful men who left and cheated on them?
