Fracking Can Now Begin In Illinois

Big news today out of Illinois: fracking can soon begin.

Today, the 12-member Illinois Joint Committee on Administrative Rules adopted regulations that govern hydraulic fracturing within the state, which will be made public by November 15th. Oil and gas companies can start applying for permits later this month. The rules will require such permits to be approved within 60 days.

Many in southern Illinois have long been pushing for hydraulic fracturing, citing a number of potential benefits, including increased tax revenue, high-paying jobs and additional investment. According to a study released two years ago by the Illinois Chamber Foundation, the region has the potential to create 47,000 jobs and more than $9.5 billion in economic development

NYS will be the last state in the Union to allow fracking - Boy Cuomo will never let it happen.

A permit to frack has to be issued within 60 days. Yet the Illinois State Police have 90-120 to issue my CCW permit.

Very good news for Rauner. Economy will see a definite uptick on his watch. Bodes well for reelection already.

Methinks Gov. Rauner will do everything he can to facilitate this start-up process in Illinois

Meanwhile Denton, TX voted to outlaw fracking within the city limits.

I did mine electronically without fingerprints. It says 90-120 days on the website.

Forgot to add that it’s good to hear they’re coming as quickly as that. Thanks.

Yes, but I did it 5 years ago, that’s my concern now.

And when they drill the first fracking hole, they can put ex-Gov. Quinn down it, followed by Mayor Emanuel, Comrade Rep. Danny Davis, Valerie Jarrett, Michele Obama and Comrade in Chief Barack Obama.

See, fracking is indeed useful for something besides oil, gas, jobs and taxes.

Did you get a tan card through DPR? I had one years ago that expired. Now I’m going through the “civilian” CCW process.
