Astronauts Make a Water Bubble... IN SPACE… IN 3-D! (Video)

To quote the late, great author Douglas Adams, space “is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is.” So naturally, the astronauts of Expedition 40 to the International Space Station decided to explore that bigness by learning about water surface tension in microgravity. To put it in layperson’s terms, they made a softball-sized bubble out of water, stuck a GoPro inside and played with it.

I like how it sticks to his hands.

Reminds me of how the mirror stuck to Neo’s hands, just before he entered the Matrix, oly ithis was clear rather than silvery.

Aren’t all those stray water droplets/globules a potential electrical problem?

Seems like they would want to be more careful.

I would imagine the air filtration system would suck in the errant water droplets and is designed to accept a certain level of H2O.

Yep, true - I was thinking more about the control systems.

However, the fact that they didn’t appear to be at all concerned with stray droplets leads me to believe that they must “have it covered”.
