A Republican congressman known as a pit bull in Washington said Thursday that he doesn't support the idea of impeachment proceedings against President Obama because winning that fight would elevate the vice president to the Oval Office.
'Have you met Joe Biden?' South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy asked during a Fox News Channel interview. Impeachment talk has swirled around Washington since the president announced that an executive order overhauling America's immigration system is imminent.
But some in the GOP see Biden as Obama's hedge against removal from office, since much of his public exposure has come in conjunction with a series of embarrassing gaffes.

Biden appears to be stupid.
I think Biden would be a bad president.
But we've had bad presidents before. It's quite survivable.
But Obama appears to be a treasonous bastard working with foreigners for the destruction of our entire system of government. That's a first.
Biden would be preferable.

This was not a diplomatic remark, because it undercuts the possibility that a cabinet coup led by Biden against Obama could very well be mounted on the grounds of his inability to perform the duties of the office. (see Amendment 25)
Joe Biden (aka Joey Plugs) may well be a figure of senile mirth to us, but lemme tell you, he is one hell of an effective politician who knows where every body in DC is buried,who killed it, and who dug the grave. He has also managed to turn himself and his entire family into multi-multi-millionaires. Not so dumb, eh?
Although a Liberal, Biden is not a wild-eyed Marxist radical like Obama. He could very well be a much more effective President than Obama ... not that it would take much at this point in the story.
There is no mention in the Constitution of impeaching the VP.

So if I'm doing my job and in the process, I rip off the company of hundreds of billions, allow millions to enter the company illegally as they loot petty cash, the safe, strip out the wiring and plumbing, rob the employees at gun point, bring in the infected off the streets, and punish all the employees by charging them to work there, I'll be OK and be able to keep my job because my replacement might be as bad??

This guy and all of the others were sent there to govern within the guidelines of our Constitution. That means that the congress is charged with the responsibility of insuring that the executive branch is acting within Constitutional guidelines. The Supreme Court has ruled that the executive branch has NOT acted within the rules of the Constitution. And this, so called, bulldog scoffs at doing his duty because the potential replacement is a clown? This country is on a very, very dangerous slippery downhill slope...

I would not impeach Obama unless he is caught red-handed, selling US secrets to another nation.
I do not want him to be a martyr. I don’t want him to get the sympathy Bill Clinton did. Remember Clinton was hated by the democrats after he was forced to sign the welfare reform bill. Impeachment let him recover his liberal standing. Do not give Obama the same opportunity.
Let him muddle through the next two-years. Make him a villain, blame him for everything. Make him veto everything. Get under his skin so that he blows up in a profanity laced tirade on camera. Expose him for the fool he is. Spend the next two years rubbing liberals nose in Obama’s S***.
GO after the IRS, the EPA and department of education for illegal activities. Put his flunkies in jail and make him either pardon them or show that he is helpless to aid them.
Ruin his ability after he leaves office to get the 40K speak circuit. Make his name as poison as Herbert Hoover’s
2016 needs to be the year that the PC/socialist/buffoon/climate changing/cringing and apologizing/non-fiscally responsible/religion hating left left is beaten so badly that they will take decades to recover.
Impeaching Obama gives them sympathy. It gives them a rallying cry. It gives them a reason to vote.
Cut off the funds to Obama’s flunkies and his programs. Pass a balanced budget and make him veto it. Don’t just repeal Obama care but replace it with something better and make him veto it.
Don’t impeach him, ruin him.

Gowdy is my congress critter. I agree with you that he makes himself out to be something he is not by being a media hound and his position on some issues would not pass the various FR litmus tests. However he is among the best we got and we cannot afford to beat up our own.
I love it! The only question I have is, if he is the treasonous narcissist that we want to impeach him for, can we be sure he won’t go all Mussolini on us? But the scenario you paint seems more doable than impeachment.
