Since 7/1/2004, I have been following and supporting FR. I was pointed to this place by an acquaintance who told me that this is where real conservatives and patriots hang out.
He couldn't have been more dead on.
Jim and John have provided us this place to report the truth, share opinions and in many cases, just blow off steam. And, we've all done it.
What I've come to appreciate over the past 10+years is the community that is Free Republic.
We give each other advice from baked beans to Sig Sauers.
We fix computers. We see wonderful pictures from outer space.
We hold the government responsible.
We care about one another.

The love and support that my family received from the FR community was overwhelming and we still thank you to this day.
These are just a few reason why I support FR.

The dollar a day club opens up a whole new world. On pain of death, the members can’t tell anyone what the fabulous benefits really are.
I just supported FR a few minutes ago.
And the humor and silliness, the bizarre and the edgy, the pingless and the mangled, and the things that make me laugh and cry every day.
I went to an automatic monthly donation a few years ago so I wouldn't have to remember.
But I'm reminded every day how wonderful this place is.

I have been a generous donor. This hasn’t been my year to do so. But I just gave some now. I want to encourage others to join me. I am thankful for this place where people understand me and feel what I feel. If I were alone in lib land while all these events were happening, I’d go crazy. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow FReepers and to JimRob and Free Republic.

I hear you. In 2001 I posted a thread with the simple title, ‘My Mom Died’. Made a lot of friends then. Also when joining the DC Chapter a couple years earlier. And with the TRT in northern Colorado. Gonna make a donation now. Thanks
