President Obama has said many Americans sense a "deep unfairness" within the US criminal justice system, following the death of a black man who was placed in an apparent chokehold by a white police officer.
The justice department said it would investigate the death of Eric Garner, who lost his life following the confrontation in New York on 17 July.
A grand jury decided against charging the officer, sparking protests across the city.

That wasn’t a choke hold. It was a take down.
Word must have come down at FOX News to be on the criminal’s side this time. Every FOX commentator has been calling for the cop’s head, which makes me sick. Maybe they’re scared because the protests are in NYC, where they are. Whatever the reason, it’s disgraceful to see all these talking heads siding with the mob just like CNN and MSNBC.
Correct. Garner wasn’t choked. I notice many more news stories are saying apparent chokehold, such as the BBC does here.

There was a sergeant there in charge of the arrest. A black female, who was given immunity to testify. Heard anything about her?
A black woman Sargent was on the scene in charge, but one of the 5 officers gets all the blame. The reason that they were there is that the deceased was blocking the entrance to stores that sole smokes.
Despite the fact he has been arrested 31 times, been in jail before, this would not have ended if he had just put his hands behind him as the police wanted.
The police are not the ones who need training, the people need to be trained to do what the police want.
Remember the song “I fought the law and the law won”?
Teach these people that you get in more trouble resisting arrest, and the police outnumber and out gun you. The life you save is your own when you are more peaceful.
In this case this guy was not attacking the cops, but he wasn’t cooperative either.
Me I see a President elected 2x by whites, nominated by a white party, with a black AG and nothing got better for blacks. Lower wages, lower savings, less home ownerships, higher unemployement than Bush.
Had MRS. Obama given the 50 million she has spent on vacations to vouchers for African American kids at least some would have some hope.
I and all my friend are tired of riots, welfare, generation after generation. And yet we see new legal and illegals, from Mexico, India, Jamaica, Africa, Korea, China, Vietnam coming here and doing better than African Americans on their own.
I am tired of helping a people who fail and won’t fit into society.
So I guess this is Democrats protesting themselves? After all they run New York city, Ferguson, the justice dept, the POTUS. Cops are given orders from the top down. Just why were they busting a guy for selling a single solitary cigarette? Oh that’s right, because nothing is more important than getting tax money.
The fact that they commit homicide 8 times as often as whites leaves me yearning for true justice and equality, i.e. for blacks to behave like normal humans.
Mark Steyn is pretty angry at the man’s death as well, a lot of conservatives are.
I know nothing about her. It would be nice if the media would report as much information as possible. Instead all they want to do is stir up emotions so people will tune in and watch their Viagra commercials.
We’re angry when someone is victim of government abuse of power, which includes law enforcers, but we’re equally angry when media/left make it out as another example of white racism

Ed Koch cited FBI statistics that a white person is statistically 14 times more likely to be attacked by a black person than a black person is likely to be a victim of white against black assault.
Consider AA are only 14% of the population 7% male, and yet half of jailbirds are black, mostly convicted by blacks.
93% of black homicides are committed by blacks.
This after 6 years of a black administration in DC and in most cities with large minority populations. If there were no white cops at all it wouldn’t be any different.

The salient points are, the guy resisted arrest and got into medical trouble the minute the police put the hurt on him. An ambulance was summoned, and he died in it en route.
Yes, the racism thing is going to destroy the chance of something good coming out of this, conservative concerns will be drowned and pushed aside by the stupid impulse to make everything racial.
It’s too bad, this could have been a chance to examine the methods and haste used in his arrest.
