No, his implication is that they make a greater profit since the actual shipping costs will be lower.

I haven’t heard that the airlines have removed the surcharges they added when fuel prices spiked.

Just my opinion——

1. Nothing, and I mean nothing that I have bought at Amazon in the last year qualified for “free shipping.”
2. The purchase price of the item one is buying on Amazon can be found for less at alternate sites. Amazon is putting the shipping cost into the price of the item so there is really no “free shipping”.
