Man Who Threatened To Shoot Subway Passengers.. FIGHTS Cop! (Riders Jump In To Help Officer)
Philadelphia transit police officer is being hailed a hero after he pulled an unruly passenger off a train Monday and successfully detained the man — with a little help from onlookers.
The two-minute dustup was all caught on SEPTA train system cameras, which show the cop order a passenger off the train after receiving reports the man was armed and threatening to shoot other passengers around 3 p.m. Monday, WTXF-TV reported. The unidentified passenger is seen becoming more and more aggressive as the officer appears to tell the man to stand against the train and listen to instructions. But the passenger continues to advance on the officer, who steps back into a defensive stance and reaches for the pepper spray canister on his belt. As the officer appears to spray the noxious irritant, the irate passenger takes several swings at the cop and tries to tackle him. The officer grabs his baton out of his belt and tries to subdue the man as the two tumble into a puddle next to a wall at the Fairmount Station stop, according to video obtained by WCAU-TV. Other train passengers, at first just watching the brawl, eventually run over to the tussling duo as the aggressive passenger seems to be getting the upper hand.

There’s no help from passengers. It’s actually disgraceful.
