Everyone in the family gets a handknit specifically for them, for birthday or Christmas every year. People who have never worn or used them end up loving them and asking for more. I like it because I can personalize every color, design, and fiber and it keeps me from snacking on something unhealthy while watching TV or sitting around. It can be an expensive hobby, once you get into it and get picky about which fibers to use, but it’s still great fun. I have made baby afghans for every person in the spouse’s office when they were expecting. Some have two of them now. Every baby should have something made especially for them.
