2012 had that crappy Mayan calandar, and got us all worked up over nothing. But 2015 might be a cooler year. Its only 292 days until Marty McFly arrives from 1985 in Back to the Future II.

Back to the Future Day Countdown Clock

There WILL, oddly enough, be a hoverboard available. And Marty's shoes: Nike Promises 'Back to the Future II' Style Power Laces

If the dude on the left is wearing body armor, yeah, that would be accurate.

Isn't there a McFly in the White House, or an all growed up Urkel?

I think that’s supposed to be a wearable computer. We beat BTTF2 on that one.

In the last BTTF, Doc winds up in the late 19th century. He might have unwittingly changed the space time continuum again. In any event, the movie DID predict that Miami would have a baseball franchise (though in the wrong league).

Two things from the movie that are actually very eerie in their relevance to today That I’ve noticed:

Doc tells Marty, when making sure he dresses himself to resemble his son, to turn his pockets inside out because it is a fashion trend for young people at the time. Turning your pockets inside out an almost universal symbol for being penniless. Certainly relatable for young people living in a terrible economy, with no savings, few job prospects, and crippled with massive student loan debt and a looming Federal. I would not surprised if that fashion statement becomes a real thing.

Also Doc mentions that the “Cafe 80s” was a popular type of nostalgia joint because things have net been going all that well in 2015. I can certainly see the parallels to the national mood of the real 2015, and how nostalgia for the 80s is big with the general public.

At the time I didn’t think the Cafe 80’s was a prediction. I thought it was completely unrealistic that people would have nostalgia for the 80’s. But the music and other culture like movies has never really left the public conciousnes. I think a Cafe 80’s could actually work in 2015.

It has been so many years since I have seen that movie that I’m confused, I thought he went back to the 1950s, not ahead to 2015.

In the first movie he went back to the 1950s, in the sequel he went to 2015, and then in the third he went to 1885.
