You know you are in the Deep South when you see the Spanish Moss trees (especially plentiful along the coast of South Carolina and Georgia).

A lot of the marshland looks like Michigan but we don’t have Palmetto or spanish moss.

I love that Spanish Moss…remember it from early childhood vacations along Gulf Coast Mississippi. My dad called them “trees with whiskers,” always made me giggle.
