i have oatmeal with raisin and banana and oj in the fall and winter, the egg with a little cheese on a english muffin/bagel and banana and oj my good cholesterol is fine and i eat meat at night, i am sick of all the "experts" tell us how to eat.

I love oatmeal. I usually have it thicker. I love mixing in natural peanut butter, butter, cinnamon and either a little sugar, brown sugar, stevia or honey.
I like adding dried cranberries (hate raisins), chocolate, jam or preserves and various other things like nuts and sunflower seeds. Just depends on what sounds good and what I have available.
Also like making oatmeal jam bars, fruit crumbles and crisps.

Best oatmeal:
Put dried cherries in a few minutes before oatmeal is finished cooking. Mix in a little heated canned pumpkin, walnuts, a little coconut, splenda (or brown sugar if you're lucky enough to be able to eat real sugar) and the secret ingredient...butter.
Half and half makes a good topper after butter has melted.
