WMCA AM 570 NYC has been Christian talk for years but are hinting at a format change. Some speculation is that they may switch with sister station WNYM 970 which runs conservative talk (has a better signal probably). May have to wait till Mon to find out..

Both owned by Salem Communications I believe. Years ago they were the WMCA Good Guys who ties themselves to Beatlemania. Allegedly the first NYC station to air a Beatles record (I wanna hold your hand on 12/26/63) though supposedly WINS aired She Loves you a few months earlier in a listener poll.

As it is NYC is getting another religious station as 1560 has been sold from Disney to Family Radio

My guess is that at the lower dial position 570 provides better signal propagation. So Salem will likely move Medved, Hugh Hewitt and company down the dial to 570 and park the preachers on 970.
