Anybody experienced and accustomed to working with APA format in papers?

Posted on 01/13/2015 4:54:22 PM PST by ProgressingAmerica

Just hoping to find someone to provide some guidance on APA formatting in a paper.

I have looked at Purdue's OWL website, anybody can do that.

I am hoping to get an experienced eye on the matter.

Do you have a specific question? I used to copy edit articles for an academic psychology journal, but haven’t done it for about 10 years, so I wouldn’t be up on any new changes.

I have been using a program called PERRLA for years. You can go to www.perrla.com to check it out. It automatically sets your document to APA format, and allows you to simply plug in your reference citations, and stores them all in a database for later use.

The program is good enough to pass through my BSN and Master of Nursing studies, and also a research paper I shared with a state nursing commission, with flying colors.

There is a one-time lifetime fee, but it's worth every penny.

What do you need to know? You must have a specific question on your mind.

Go to the Copyediting List, operated out of Indiana University. There are a lot of specialty copyeditors on that list--medical, psych, everything.

Thanks for your replies. I only have one specific question which is would you be willing to review a paper I wrote?

I have made an attempt to take a historical look at left wing journalism, where it comes from, who wrote what, where did they write it, etc. Between various websites such as OWL(and other sites mentioned by other people who have replied) the paper should be relatively free of formatting errors.

But I need a second opinion about just how error free it really is.
