UKRAINE: InformNapalm’s Summary Up-date for 15 January 2015

Posted on 01/18/2015 4:54:44 PM PST by UMCRevMom@aol.com

On the morning of January 15, the terrorists continued to attack Nikishyne, Kamyanka and Ridkodub simulating the attacks of Debaltseve from the southward. Despite them having heavy armed vehicles in Torez, Snizhne and Krasnyi Luch, only manpower was used. In the afternoon the terrorists attempted to discredit the Ukrainian forces. At the moment of the arrival of the OSCE mission at the Donetsk airport, there was an attempt of provocation in the Petrovskyi district of Donetsk (approximately 15:00). But units of the Ukrainian forces who were expecting such a provocation called their bluff. Later the terrorists made a desperate attempt to again assault the Donetsk airport. With the support of artillery from the Petrovskyi and Kuibyshivskyi districts of Donetsk and Makiivka the terrorists stormed the new terminal and the former flight-control tower, but received a fitting rebuff. Militants artillery firing positions were in the area of the Panfilov mine grounds, and in area of Abakumova Street and the village cemetery next to the 29th mine.

During the battle for the Donetsk airport the ATO forces received considerable support from the partisan resistance movement, which adjusted the fire for the artillery. In fact, the most of the terrorist artillery coordinates was found with the help from insiders. It should be noted that the InformNapalm volunteers played important role for the collection and processing of the information. In the addition, the partisans temporarily incapacitated a terrorist’s mortar Tulip in Petrovskyi district of Donetsk.

Note that in parallel with the raid on the Donetsk airport militants fired at Starognatovka from Komsomolsk and Styla. Moreover, the militants redeployed a tank company to the Dokuchaevsk area. It should also be noted there is increased activity of militants artillery in Gorlovka village. During the recent period there was also shelling of the village of Dzerzhinsk. But late in the afternoon on January 15 artillery fire from Gorlovka (from the former textile factory area ) was moved to Yenakiyevo and the northern suburbs of Donetsk . In addition, a similar pattern was seen from militants with artillery in Makeyevka. Probably desperate to have a final capture of the Donetsk airport, the militants decided to stage a “genocide Russian-speaking population in Ukraine” and fired at peaceful areas. Recall that the most dangerous areas of possible impacts remains Artemivs’k (more on this in the summary for January14 https://informnapalm.org/4659-svodka-komandy-informnapalm-po-sostoyanyyu-na-14-yanvarya-2015).

Regarding the situation near the Donetsk airport: From the areas of the Putilov forests and “Putilovskaya” mine waste dumps there is routine firing of Grads and mortars of the enemy. On the mine waste dumps are located observers and spotters. Assault militant groups are concentrated in the multi-level parking in front of the terminal. On mine waste “Oktyabrskiy rudnik” also sit fire spotters. Apart from mine waste observation points there are also the shafts and other high industrial structures which provide spotting points.

Thus, the tension in a fierce confrontation between pro-Russian terrorist and Ukrainian forces in eastern Ukraine is constantly growing. Obviously, discussion about any “truce” is not out of the question. However militiaman and representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation under cover of the “truce” have continued, and no doubt will continue, to bring in weapons and military equipment to the Donbass, firing not only at Ukrainian military but also at civilians in the occupied territories. The whole point of this situation perfectly captured in the caricature of the German edition Svz.de, which is summed up with the call: “Round tables, we need more round tables!”…

The OSCE has demanded that UK stop the unprovoked (Their words. Not mine) shelling of Donetsk city.

Video from LifeNews including today’s operations in and around Donetsk airport. You can see the rebel commander Givni on the tank as they pass.

Also, the Rebel Pres of Donetsk claimed that Gorlivka was bombed by air today. Looks like Kiev has restarted the offensive. Unsure if it is limited, but it doesn’t seem to be large-scale.

And Kiev’s claim of “Victory!” at the Donetsk airport (Is this the 7th? or the 8th time they have claimed this?) appears to be total BS...

Interesting...
Rt’s Live Cam showing several AFV’s going up and down the airport road, with occasional crumps of light artillery in the background.

Pretty active on the Airport cam tonight.
Several AFV’s going to and from.

Heavy gunfire for the last 10 minutes or so, numerous explosions, and the occasional inbound heavy arty.

Sounded like someone was melting a chain gun barrel a few minutes ago.

That’s the third explosion fairly close to RT’s cam. That is DEFINATELY a civilian area.

Anybody know this UMR person? He or she only posts about the Russia/Ukraine conflict and they are always highly dramatic. Is this person a paid troll of the Ukrainian government?

I don’t trust Russia, but I don’t trust the Ukraine, either. All governments lie, particularly during wartime.
