Word For The Day, Tuesday January 20, 2015
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
taradiddle [tar-uh-did-l]
-n
1a small lie; fib.
2. pretentious nonsense.
[1790-1800; origin uncertain]
Tara may diddle, but Brandt can’t watch. Unless he pays $100.
Heard this on the radio the other day. Phil Collins plays the drums (and produced) this solo hit from a chick from Abba.
Hard to believe perhaps, but a taradiddle is one order of magnitude bigger than a gigadiddle.
Morning.
Obama’s propensity to lie likely started with taradiddling under taqqiyah during his youth.
There is a finite number of songs that can be written.
But it is pathetic that they all are current and use the same melodies, backgrounds, and harmonics. It would be one thing if a song stole a riff from a 50s song. This is SIX OF THEM COPYING EACH OTHER AT THE SAME TIME!
oh the music snobs ; )
Seeing the number of arrests and the volume of party garbage left behind from a summertime country concert, it seems to me that the music might not be the most important thing there. ;-)
Zero chance I will be watching SOTU. xshub is going to be at the Wells Fargo center for the Pens Flyers game; I will prob watch that. if the Caps win tonight and if the Pens lose, they will be tied.
I love happy endings. That was very kind of the salesman.
Pens are in free fall.
they need danny boy back! ; )
I know, I just loved that story.
Columnist in paper the other day called them out for thinking they can win just by “showing up.”
Well, fiddle de dee
is it a taradiddle I hear
from Obama and smear
tonight’s State of the Union message is
there is no message cause it’s broken.
Oh, no my dears, we will hear, “Everything’s
coming up Roses”
What a load of manure.
We try. :-)
