Detectives explained their investigation began in June 2014, when large amounts of flammable liquids were found on the roof of a dental building with obvious intentions of being used to commit arson.
About two weeks later, arson was set at a second dental building, however, investigators were left with very few clues.
According to deputies, Moorpark was identified after his vehicle was observed by a concerned citizen near one of the dental offices at an odd time of day.
Detectives explained they were able to match his vehicle to a description provided by witnesses in previous incidents.

Whatley!
Was it laughing gas?
Give him the chair!
Smokey the Bear says: Only You Can Prevent Flossist Fires.
“Is it safe?”
Camarillo - Calif. - Ventura County.
Now we’re in my backyard - -
A city that went from one intersection with a traffic light in 1969, now hovering around 50 or more ‘lighted’ intersections.
And an outlet mall, drawing bus crowds from L.A. and beyond.
Ten miles from the Pacific Ocean. And Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station.
Port Hueneme (Why-knee-me) and the Seebees are also at/on the ocean.
Channel Islands University about 5 miles out of town, towards the ocean.
Much (shrinking) agriculture. Housing and stores on some, and housing on former citrus groves. When one drives past on the Ventura Freeway, one can observe custom homes a mile away, on attractive hillsides.
Now you all know more about Camarillo then you ever asked!
And/but, I didn’t read in the county newspaper about these fires. . . must have missed it.
But you overlooked
As I understand it, Camarillo was also home to a sanitarium treating heroin addicts. At one time, jazz great Charlie Parker was a guest and he wrote and recorded a song about the experience.
Camarillo is a nice town.
(and isn’t it who-why knee me?)
You forgot the great Outlet Mall.
New book in bookstores...”How to succeed in business by arson” by I.M. Apyromaniac
‘You forgot the great Outlet Mall’
Well - - - check line 4 in my comment.
I believe there is an eyeglass store at that mall - - - cheap shot, sorry - - couldn’t resist. : ^ }
I considered including Camarillo State Hospital in my comment, and didn’t.
There was a large children’s ward there.
Our church’s youth group would go out to the hospital one Sunday a month and interact with them.
Often our youth - and vice versa - would become attached to one patient/resident or other, as was the case with our daughter.
They played games, took walks, and had snacks. It was a good experience all around.
The hospital closed in the late 1990’s, and the state university system opened a campus there.
I believe it’s doing well and MANY are glad to have it nearby.
So -
Camarillo has most everything small cities have, plus an Outlet Mall, a 4 year university, and a small municipal airport located at a former Air Force Base, so it has a great runway and a few large hangars. In August there is an EXCELLENT air show. Come on by at that time. Go to their web-site.
The MetLife Blimp was here 2 weeks ago - love seeing it overhead.
An airport, a university, and an outlet mall! - pretty good.
Oh - the near-by fields of strawberries are enjoyed by many - and have been available long after their season, it seems.
Was not aware of Charlie Parker’s Camarillo song.
I may have seen him in person in the ‘50’s at the movie house in Hicksville, Long Island, New York. There was a time when a series of musicians performed live there.
Oops you are absolutely right. I skipped right over that line. Lol
‘__________who-why knee me?’
In 45 years here, I have not heard that!
When in New Mexico years ago, we did get the introduction to that Spanish sound when saying a word in Spanish starting with ‘w.’
No, I don’t speak Spanish. But once in that culture there are Spanish words we use just about every day.
Years ago a young New Jersey nephew was here and saw ‘Port Hueneme’ on a sign and took a guess at Hugh-nem-inee.’ We then did that to all the words/places we could think of and laffed and laffed - - -
PS - My family won’t forgive me if I did not mention that Camarillo has a great soccer field complex located at Village In The Park. Right off the 101 Ventura Freeway.
But with some dismal parking and walking - sorry - but not easy for the grandparents among us. Especially those in wheel chairs.
I know I stopped going a few years ago - with 3 granddaughters playing, a daughter who line-refs, and a son-in-law who coaches - - - because of the L O N G walks from the parked car to the field where the girls might be that day. Realize my ‘boycott’ will accomplish nothing - - -
I do not live in or near Camarillo. I do get to Ventura County pretty frequently. Know people there who seemed to think that the hue in Hueneme was similar to the hue in Cahuenga — or something.
They didn’t like the way I pronounced it — so I just starting calling it Port Hew-neem
