Anything but America.
Duplicity should be the translation of the Current Occupant’s middle name. He will not, or perhaps cannot, bring himself to declare what would be in the best interests for that entity which used to be known as “the United States of America”.
In this post-America world, that concept of the set of ideals that made the territory located on the North American continent the home of world leadership and the shining beacon to all mankind, had been dimmed and battered into near unrecognizability. Surrender, not merely on the installment plan, but in wholesale and abject retreat, to forces that have not even ASKED for this capitulation. And however desperately France has tried to snatch up this flag of leadership (with the response to the attack on Charlie Hebdo), nobody else can even lift the standard.
The crisis that now faces the territory formerly known as “the United States of America” will extend perhaps long beyond the end of the tenure of the Current Occupant, but there may still be a sufficient number of useful elements to be found in the wreckage to erect a practical and operating version of that once great nation.
