These occurrences will happen at every mall until the owners get serious about security. I understand Monroeville Mall had consulted with a security firm but rejected the firm’s recommendations. No doubt the recommendations cost money to implement.

It is a shame, because I grew up near Ross Park Mall, and it is obvious the area has changed somewhat (less middle-class, more black). My mom is upset as she lives here... It started 25 years ago here with I-279 and more criminals coming from the city. Now, driving down McKnight Road, there re just people everywhere at bus stops, coming or going from the dumpy city. It is shame and disgrace that nice areas are ruined by Rats.
