[ Ignorance of the law is no defense. That has been the rule forever. Evidently this is a strict liability law. If people could get away with “no intent”, there would be far more breaches with little or no remedy.

Sorry, but this sounds a whole lot like these insane “Zero Tolerance” policies we see in schools where a mom packs a plastic butter knife in little johnny’s school lunch so he can spread his peanut butter on his toast and they end up arresting and banning little johnny from the school forever because the school has a “zero tolerance” policy about weapons.
