Multiple reports say the main person of interest in the case, Lloyd Welch, told authorities he did in fact leave a Montgomery County Maryland mall with Katherine and Sheila Lyon in 1975.

He also said he saw his uncle Richard Welch sexually assaulting one of the girls.

There are plenty of monsters out there, real monsters.

Maybe 15-20 years ago, two high school girls from Dothan, AL were found murdered in the trunk of one’s car. For some reason that one really bothered me.

As far as I know the murders have never been solved.

“As far as I know the murders have never been solved.”

I binged it and you are correct. But it’s “only” been 15 years. It’s taken the Lyon case almost 40 years to even begin to play out. I remember when it happened, it was like they dropped off the face of the earth.

What really bothers me about that one is the cops originally said the case was very solvable. I sort of thought they would eventually get a DNA hit or something. Apparently never happened.

They were found in Ozark, Alabama after a “field party” which I am not completely familiar with but I assume it is a bunch of kids getting together in a field.

I remember hearing about the Lyon sisters, and how shocking i was. Among other things, people became afraid to let their children walk to nearby shopping centers alone. These girls disappeared from Wheaton Plaza, which at the time was in a solidly middle class community.
