I once visited a RMS Titanic Exhibit, in which there were some excellent displays of artifacts from that fateful voyage.

They had an exhibit where you could put your hand into a rubber sleeve and plunge it into water that was the same temperature as the ocean was that night.

Trust me...It was COLD!

I once visited a RMS Titanic Exhibit
Every year when I open my pool, the water temp is usually around 55 degrees. It is numbing-painfully cold ... and it always makes me think about those poor people on the Titanic.
